I like French because you are learning a language, and if you go to France and someone asks you anything, you could say something back to them in French!
I also like French because if someone doesn’t understand how to say something, I can help them understand in English. This is because I speak French at home with my Parents, and my Grandparents. Written by Nour (Yr4) French Ambassador@Nelson Primary School At Nelson primary school we have 6 ambassadors to help make science more exiting: Mariam, Omar, Ayaan, Andy, Samir and Isaac. Here’s a bit more about our ambassadors, and why they chose science:
In our meetings we have discussed many ideas about what we are going to do to improve science across the school. We want to have more experiments, include challenges in lessons and finally introduce a whole science vocab activity to test scientific knowledge. We will hand out our vocabulary challenge for autumn term on Monday 16th December. On the 13 and 14 January 2020, we will come around and test you to see what you have learnt. You will receive prizes if you get the majority of the words right and have learnt them of by heart. Don’t forget to enter! GOOD LUCK! October 2019: We started this year with a whole team meet of the Subject Ambassadors from last year with Mrs Dawes. We were asked whether or not we wanted to continue in our roles, and of course we all said yes! With Year 6 leaving us in July, we had a few subjects with vacancies for new Subject Ambassadors. Recruitment posters went up, and the applications came rolling in.
After half term the lucky short listed children will attend an interview with a subject leader. We wish them luck with their interviews. We are pleased to announce that this year we also have new Gifted and Talented Ambassadors, Music Ambassadors and a new role called Junior PCSOs Ambassadors who will work with the Jewellery Quarter Police to also learn subjects such as the phonetic alphabet, general road safety, identifying road signs, what to do about problem parking and litter issues in our community. We are really looking forward to this year, and how we can help make a difference to out school. Watch this space for blog entries each half term. |
